The Ironman is another overwrought trying-too-hard bunch of shit. Just like mountain biking. Crap. Do not pretend like I just said it was easy.

It’s a shame they let in charity runners to “pay” their way into the Boston marathon rather than earn it by meeting a qualifying time.

A marathon run ,is a run wherre you challenge your discipline and show your spirit that you trained to conquer, you are then a very very happy runner after the finish-line,I did my first marathon to celebrate my 50 years birthday in 2007 at the Zürich Marathon,Switzerland, with a friend who motivated me,Max.F

The wall is a term used to describe when a runner is depleted of fuel and engery in the form of glycogen in the liver and muscles. The wall can be overcome by refueling the body with electrolytes, and sugar in the form of carbohydrates. The marathon is a balancing act, learning to fuel properly and sufficiently over the span of 26.2 miles/42km. Remember to stay properly fueled during a marathon. The body is resilient if fueled properly.

Hey guys, could you help me out ? I love to run and enjoy the sparkly, clean, cleansed feeling I get after my runs, but after about a week or so of running every day, it’s as if my brain gets used to that great feeling and I stop getting it. It’s as if I build up a tolerance to it. Does anyone have any suggestions about what to do to ALWAYS feel amazing after my runs? Thanks!!

I feel that I HAVE to do a marathon to prove to myself that I am strong.

As a side note, I would never advise anyone to go from 0 – Marathon, though many do. I did many 5Ks, 10Ks, relay-marathons (5.24 miles each), and half-Marathons, before even thinking about full-Marathons. I made the decision to run Marathon after completeing a half-Marathon. At the finish line, my friend turned to me and said, “Can you imagine running back to the start?” I said, “Yes.” I then began my training for full-Marathon.

  • comedianhost says:

It seems everone has a different experience. Again, my “wall” wasn’t physical, but mental. I would start to mentally deteriorate at about mile 17. I would have a constant mental struggle until about mile 25 where it would start to dissipate with the realization: only 1.2 miles to go; not far at all. From beginning to end, I experienced the spectrum of emotions. Yes, it was a physical challenge, but more importantly and more significantly, a war won over the negative or weaker self.

  • conbhui says:

does the wall last till the end or does it wear off?

  • Nelsinhovalente says:

Response comedianhost: Doing a marathon is to exceed their limits, not only physical, but in everything in your life … at the time that you exceed the 42km and goes, it is as if he had won the world. As the Team Hoyt said, is as if the fault had disappeared … all have weaknesses … what’s yours?
