I think Terran was considered the weakest until Boxer introduced his strategies. They actually became the strongest race until around 2004-5 when zerg caught up. Protoss had their year last year then zerg this year.
and andrewltan is right. throughout starcraft until last year(when protoss surged due to the six dragons and the bisu fe build), zerg has been the dominant race. one of the reasons boxer was so famous was because he was raping zergs while most zergs of his time were raping terrans.

Vicioso82, you’re completely wrong. At the top level, protoss is the weakest race. It is the easiest to learn, however. Check out the rankings of the top players. Protoss has traditionally been the least represented.

Wow Upmagic played like a fucking B rank Terran this game.
He was SO far ahead when his half-ass bunker rush actually worked, and just got demolished. How do you get so destroyed by a dt drop when you have 3 scanners!?
Not to mention letting 2 goons behind minerals shut down your entire expansion — could go on, but upmagic played very poorly.
On the other hand, Stork’s macro is RIDICULOUS. Microing a dt drop and pumping out of like 10 gates with no gap? So sick

magic thought he was ahead in unit count over toss because of his early advantage. not to mention that the 1st arb died. he should’ve played it a little more safer.
Is there somewhere on ICCUP where you can actually check the number of players that play one particular race? (If so, link?) That sounds like a guess, and an exaggerated one at that.

Dropijng?….3 cannons can kill a control group of vultures..and drop 2 tanks really sucks, 3 zealots and thats all, or simply move probes to atack…and in a map like phytom, dont even try that…..

Go check in Iccup and any other battle net for 1v1 players….they are like 75% protos….15% zerg and 10% terran……that sound balanced to you????
upmagic only has himself to blame for this loss, he got way to greedy after he took out that nexus
oh man terrible position in the main battle was obviously what cost upmagic this game.
I pretty much agree with most of this.
Upmagic didn’t leapfrog his tanks, did not put his vultures in a good position to kill zealots. He also didn’t spread them out well since he was caught off guard. Upmagics macro was slightly lazy at some point with his supply faltering a ton, and having 2k minerals in the bank. Also upmagic didn’t stall and scout with mines very well this game which he should’ve done in this matchup. I dunno, I thought he had this.
SPOILERS!
There were two reasons for upmagic’s loss:
1- When you get that many bases with terran you MUST build like 10 factories. God dammit man you placed 6 factories and 4 more right before stork started to own your ass…
2- He got caught with his pants down in the big fight (Pants down in terranish means unsieged tanks, out of position vults and not a single friggin mine)
Oh and by the way TvP is nowhere near imba, it’s just as people say that toss is a little easier to play thats all.

thats not necessarily true. your macro must be significantly better than your opponents if he lets himself get overrun by a ‘noob’. so you are better than him, thus you deserve the win.
